After three years of working first on the kitchen table, then on a rickety table in the basement, I finally have a decent desk! Nice big oak roll-top thing. Massive. With locks. (No more Play-Dough on the keyboard now that my son can’t get into my desk. Yippee! No more missing PC Games now that the Venomous Hubby can’t get into it, either. Woot!) Got a new chair, too.

That, of course, means that I’ve been sitting here for nearly five hours whilst arranging things just so. Seriously, when are they going to make computers entirely wireless? It took a damn hour figuring out which end of what cord goes into where. (Word of caution: do not plug your sub-woofer into the microphone jack while the volume on your speakers is maxed.)

Anyway.

Since I needed to test out the new chair and the desk arrangement — can’t have things distracting me while I’m writing, ya know — I decided to take care of a few blog-related matters… starting with the deletion of 789 spam comments. I guess it was kismet that led me to Spam Karma 2.0. And Paged Comment Editing is pretty nifty, too.

I’ve resurrected the Quick Bites on the sidebar, thanks to an upgrade of Recent Links. Besides being visible on the front page, they have their own archive and RSS feed, too.

Also, you can now Subscribe to Comments to stay on top of the Hisses from the Snake Pit.

In other words: the desk and chair are very comfortable, but I still got nothin’ to say.
