Fang Fund Update VII

by Venomous Kate

I’m out of the dark as far as the infection. My temperature’s back to normal, and the swelling in my jaw has gone down. Even the pain is all but gone. (Finally!)

As for the “flippers” — it’s going to take a while getting used to them. I definitely can’t eat with them, so I’m still on a soft food diet. But, although they’re somewhat artificial looking, it sure is nice having a mouth full of teeth again! The Venomous Hubby and kids are getting a kick out of teasing me now that I talk with a lithp muth like Thindy Bradyth. I don’t mind — it beats the hell out of looking like a cast member from Deliverance.

I’ll be going back to the dentist today for another check-up. He needs to adjust the bottom flipper — it’s wearing a raw spot underneath my tongue that makes removing and re-installing the lower one a very painful thing. But other than that, I think he’ll be pleased that I’m getting over the infection. I know I am!

Today is also a big day for the Venomous Household because this afternoon our Big-Eyed Boy has kindergarten orientation! Now that I have these flippers, I can actually take him and meet his teacher. I would’ve hated to have missed out on that, and I’m so grateful that your donations have made it possible for me to attend!

As for the Fang Fund, with the proceeds from the Art Auction of Randy’s original drawing, the Fund is now at $8107.42… which is all but full! I’ll be removing the Donation button this afternoon when we get back from our busy day.

Thank you again to everyone who contributed to my Fang Fund. Be sure to look for Before/After pictures next month when the permanent bridges go in. I want you to see what a wonderful thing you’ve done for me!

God bless you all.

  1. Hooray!
You know what this means, right? All the guys who sent money are now honorary Tooth Faries. We get to go ’round peeping under pillows while pretty women are sleeping.

  2. Great news, Flip. It’s wonderful that you’re able to accompany your son on his first day of kindergarten. It’s a big day for both of you. I still remember my mom taking me on my first day, and I remember it in detail 43 yrs later. Glad you were able to attend.

  3. *breaks into theme song from “Flipper”*
