Just when I thought there would be no more new brown-eyed baby members of our family looking to me for food, love and potty-training, my Husband had to go and surprise me. Not that I’m complaining, mind you. My new baby girl is adorable, and unlike the others, she already seems to understand the concept of not strewing poop all over the house.
Plus, she’s warm and fuzzy and does the cutest floppy-eared dance under my feet when I walk.
My son has named her “Snuffy,” but I think of her as Miss Thing. Either way, it’s hard to believe that so much fun and happiness comes in something smaller than a beer bottle.
Best Valentine’s Day present ever!

Yep, she’s a miniature dachsund. I love them, too! I’d had one (Buddy) before moving to Hawaii but couldn’t stand the thought of keeping him for 3 months in a kennel as the state’s quarantine laws formerly required, so we found him a new home. When my husband learned that an acquaintance was breeding mini-dachsunds, he begged for one to give me for Valentine’s Day. She’s the runt of the litter but so was I — and I absolutely adore her. Heck, even our cat does, too!
