Erik, it's not your command of English that he's referring to - what he's talking about when he says you're incoherent is your seeming inability to make a point...any point...without resorting to cheap insults and ad hominem attacks or smug condescension. I alluded to it above.

...fact is, for reasons I cannot fathom the republicans currently have a monopoly on the religious votes...

It's because of statements like this, again from you:

...It was also not difficult for the pied piping Texan to hijack the church simpletons...

...Let's put things into perspective, shall we? You see, we leftists (read: educated, wealthy people)are pissed because you gun-toting, bible thumping rednecks brought our country on its knees...

I can understand you being angry, but the very fact that you're first and foremost angry prevents any kind of reasonable debate with you. I'm willing to settle instead for laughing at you - you insist on believing you're better because you have an education and you presume I do not...because I disagree with you, saying, "Go back to the shooting range." Every village must have its clown - if you insist on casting yourself in that role, more power to you...just don't ask me to take you seriously when you aren't capable of it yourself.

***Where have I made any such assertions. You have a problem staying on point***

I was not talking to you. Fact is that for reasons which I still cannot fathom the republicans currently have a monopoly on the religious votes. Although I wonder for how long, since they get nothing in return and that will dawn to them sooner or later. They might also realize that you cannot be pro-life and send your own boys and girls to their graves in Iraq.

******You said:
The truth is that Clinton was the last conservative

I say:
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA
Socialized health care- the secret desire of every conservative!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA
*******

I'm glad I made you laugh, you see, I'm not a bitter liberal, I am just an angry citizen who wants some dignity back in the White House. I challenge you to find a mismatch between Clinton's record and the standard definitions of a conservative. I am talking about things like small government, balanced budgets, reduced welfare, no nation building, you name it. You could also include adultery if you want, since that also is no longer an exclusively liberal trait. But you picked socialized health-care. I don't see that Bush Sr and Jr did any better than Clinton on this list. Explain why Clinton is not fulfilling the criteria of a (fiscal) conservative or not better than Bush Sr and Jr (or even "deficits don't matter" Reagan).

****As far as making you laugh- as angry as you are I’d work on making you coherent long before I’d try to amuse you.****

I think I am coherent enough. Just because I don't have the time to polish my writing here, in a non-native language, doesn't mean I cannot form a clear argument. You have not convinced me in any of your points even though you are a better writer.

***You’re the one keeps arguing about Bush- remember my earlier comments that HE’S NOT RUNNING!***

I thank God on my knees for that

***it’s because I oppose Obama’s concentrated liberalism.***

Which I interpret as being an inability to look at the facts rather than look underneath the huge label you stuck on his head. It is your contempt of "liberalism" that drives you away from him, not so much your disagreements with his policies because they are not very different with those of McCain anyway; it is mostly in the fine print. Didn't you or someone else here admit that McCain is not a "conservative" either? I challenge you to name one major (MAJOR) "socio-liberal" thingy Obama proposed. From the verocity of your response, and that of others here, it almost seems as if he is about to propose nationalization of Wall Street, or a 90% tax on everybody making more than minimum wage. Let me pre-emptively state that his health-care proposals actually make sense and that the only "nationalization sheme" comprises the generation of a huge collective pool of uninsured who then can buy their insurance themselves, at reduced rates. The notion that Obama is a commy or socialist who is going to turn this country into Cuba or something is absurd and it illustrates the thing I said somewhere else in this forum, that there is this visceral fear of liberals. Again, look at Clinton, at what he achieved: Balanced budgets, small government, radical overhaul (reduction) of welfare. Name me one modern Republican who has achieved something similar.

The main reason why I prefer Obama: His age, charisma, his calm attitude, his coolness. I'd rather have him at the red phone (and red button) at 3 am than McCain. I actually do like McCain's health care plan (I don't see why an employer should provide health-care) and several other policies, and I think McCain is a good person (I whish he had won in 2000), but he is past his prime and he is not calm enough.

***And that’s why Conservatives voted for Bush- not because they thought he was a true Conservative but because they KNEW Gore and Kerry were true liberals.***

And what a great choice they made! Congratulations to all of them for their excellent choice! Half of all banks are now seized by government, which BTW has increased in size, spending has reached absurd levels, we are in a nation-building war, entitlement programs have expanded, etcetera. You know, Bush CALLED himself a conservative, and they believed it. Kerry and Gore were LABELED liberal, and yet they would not have been able to get us in a deeper mess than the one we are in now.

***And if they stay home- it will be hoping for Palin against Obama in 2012.***

Palin as President? That would be over and out for the United States. Honestly. Or at least a set-back into the Middle Ages. Have you seen her interviews with Couric? And you accuse ME of being incoherent? Her vice-presidential debate performance, in which she spouted rehearsed phrases, was a total embarrassment.

You know what? The US is becoming a country of posers. You pose as a conservative, and you become one. You pose as a folksy hockey mom who has worked herself up from a modest background, and you become one. You smile the whole frickin day, and you become happy. Everything is a "great job", everybody played a "great game". You create an ad of an SUV with big green words and flowers everywhere, and there you are, you now are a "green" company. Why don't we just remove one dimension of the world we live in, the third one, the one that gives you substance and content, and project everything in two dimensions. Substance and content does not matter anymore, so why not get rid of it. Elect Palin, and we remove the fourth dimension as well, because we will be standing still for a very long time.

***And remember these words, wherever life takes you: Thorazine, it’s your friend.***

Thank you very much for your kind suggestion, but looking at the side effects (as evidenced by your writings) I rather pass.

For the record, I did vote for Dubya in the last election. Prior to that I voted for Clinton twice, too.

And I'm voting for McCain because I think he not only knows what needs to be done but how to accomplish it, too. Obama's lack of experience allows him to promise all sorts of big things without restraint. There's going to be a lot of disappointment if he gets into office as people realize he can't shove through all of his Big Plans And Promises.
