Amy Has Something To Say
Amy of Tastes Like Crazy is next in this series of blogger interviews. A wife of three years, and the mother of the Divine Miss Caroline, Amy was a bit surprised recently to find out that her site had been tagged as adult. (Trust me, it’s not.)
Somehow, between making her own baby food and running her own blog, Amy found time to answer these questions:
1. What “Tastes Like Crazy”?
I wanted something catchy and since I’ve seen my fair share of counselors, I figured that would work. I thought about a “your momma” joke, but thought better of it.
2. Tell me about the tat. Does it have any special significance?
His name’s Bob and he’s a gray scale dragon; I’ll post a picture of him on my blog. It has no real significance; it’s just some custom art that a really cool guy in Pensacola did for me.
3. In a relationship, is it more important to be loved or understood?
Understood. Hopefully the love will come after that. I think that love without understanding is doomed to fail.
4. What breakfast food most closely symbolizes your personality, and why?
An omelet. The eggs are beaten to crap and it’s all jumbled up inside.
5. You’re going to be stranded on a deserted island. You can only take three non-living things. What are they, and why?
A flint – For fire.
US Army Survival Manual – So I’ll know what the hell to do…and not to do.
A really big knife – So I can hack at stuff.
6. Name three things that make a blog suck.
Tons of links with no substance, music that you can’t turn off and poor gramar.
7. Fig Newtons: cookies, cake, or the tool of the devil?
Man, you really ask the tough questions. I have to say cake and a damn good cake at that.
8. Everyone has a theory. What’s yours?
That everything is cyclic, it’s all been done before and that there are no original ideas. [Damn. So much for finding meaning in life, eh? - VK]
9. Hollywood is going to make a movie about your life. It’s going to be a cartoon. Which cartoon character will star as you, and why?
Dora the Explorer. She kind of looks like me and Hollywood knows that would piss me off.
10. Complete this sentence: “What VK doesn’t know about me is…”.
…I’m adopted and grew up in Arkansas.

I like #8. I once read a theory that because there is a vast, but still finite, amount of matter in the universe, there is also a finite number of permutations of that matter. Therefore, everything that is happening now has happened before and will happen again. That’s why we have deja vu, because we really have been here before.
It’s probably malarky, but fascinating nonetheless.
