You're welcome to use it any time you like, Beth. It was the one concession that VH demanded in return for leaving Hawaii. (Obviously, I got the better end of our deal.)

Ours holds 5 people and has all sorts of jets including one specifically for the back that feels a bit like a Swedish massage. Since it's on our back patio, which isn't enclosed and is VH's responsibility to keep clean (read: it's not clean at all), I find the whole experience rather un-relaxing.

Luckily, I also have a huge whirlpool 'garden tub' in my bathroom which is so much more clean, private and relaxing. And you're welcome to borrow that any time, too. :)

Now, see, if you lived out here, all you'd really have to worry about for about 50 weeks outta the year is rain. Nosy neighbors aren't too much of a problem - Oregon has no shortage of concealing plant-life, and if you live in certain parts of the state, nudity is kind of a way of life anyway. :)

Well, like I said, I'd be willing to replace all but my bedside light. Our big electricity eater is the hot tub that VH insisted on buying when we moved in. The one I've been in maybe 12 times and he's been in perhaps 4 times more than that. It's outside, and I won't go in it because of that.

Why get in a hot tub and get all cozy when the instant you get out you're gonna freeze, get your feet dirty, and hope the neighbors aren't watching?

Kate, I replaced all of our bulbs about 9 months ago with the compact fluorescent kind. The savings in our electric bill has been stunning.

I have had a few bulb failures, though - and I need to start saving my receipts and the boxes so I can send them back to be replaced - most of them have a 5 year guarantee.

Almost every bulb in my house is the compact fluorescent kind. Even the globes in the bathroom vanity strip (they have them at WalMart now. We also use a party light (colored bulb) in the boys' room as a night light and they make those in compact fluorescent now too. I have to go get one tomorrow because the regular one blew out tonight...

However, we have had a bum bulb, which conked out after less than a month. You get bum bulbs with incandescents, too, though you're not out as much. Unless Comm Ed is subsidizing you! And yeah, this does make sense for them. Related thoughtshere.[IMG]
