Venom Victim Max informed me yesterday that I’d been nominated for a Weblog award. Turns out, I’m up for “Best Essayist”, which is rather surprising considering that I rarely write essays.
This nomination is as good an incentive as any to start writing more of them. But I have some amazing competition, and I didn’t vote for myself, so I’m not counting on anything except this good feeling that perhaps it’s time to start writing from the heart here again.

Venom Victim? Okay
Looks like you’ve got 24 votes. The competition is tough but your nomination will bring traffic and beget more ‘victims’.
Can’t wait to read more essays from your heart.
Regards,
Max

For those that may be first time lurkers here. Check out ‘God Speed, Tony’ in the archives posted 11-5-04. An example of Kate’s writing from the heart. Tears and WOW! was my reaction.

I went and voted for you, although I agree the category is odd. You’re doing about as well as I am in the 1000-1750 category.
