Let me get this straight: I worked my ass off full-time for 17 years and paid into Social Security – against my will, I might add – knowing there’s a distinct possibility it will cease to exist before I’m old enough to get my money back. But despite the fact that I – and millions upon millions of people in my age-group – have been compelled to pay into a system that’s been screwed all to hell, that’s screwing our parents, and that’s likely to screw us, too… now we’re talking about paying Social Security benefits to day-workers and undocumented immigrants from Mexico?
