The Blight is Blighted

by Venomous Kate

My best gal, Kelley, has decided to go on an extended blogging hiatus. I can’t say I blame her: blogging does have a way of sapping the life out of one’s days when there are so many other real-world demands competing with time in front of the screen.

I’m trying not to pout about her decision. Really, I am. But, you see, Kelley and I started blogging on the exact same day. We didn’t know it at the time. Hell, we didn’t even know each other. But, like moths and flames, we were inexplicably drawn to each other’s blogs. What started as an exchange of witty comments and links turned into an online friendship. That, too, grew — and Kelley came to visit me not once but twice when I lived in Hawaii. From our first night hanging out together, we’ve been best friends and cohorts in crime.

Ah well. Looks like I’ve got a road trip to Georgia somewhere in my near future. From what I gathered last night when we were on the phone, Kelley’s got a trip to Kansas in her future, too. Meanwhile, I’m awfully grateful for free long-distance phone plans.

Kelley: Rest up, buttercup. Next time we get together, you’re going to need your strength.

  1. Everybody needs a break every once in a while. ;)

  2. I haven’t done the public pout yet, but it’s on its way…

If you can, Kate, consider coming to the meet! We’ll harrass Kelley together. ; )

  3. Darling, you know I love you. No pout; I am right here, same as ever. Now in driving distance, thank God. I appreciate the class-A send-off, though. Who knows? I may blog again someday, in the far-flung future.

    Anyway…thanks.
