Before, I'd wake up at the slightest noise at night, hoping it was Winston coming through the door. When it got very cold the other evening, I worried about how he'd stay warm. And I'd kept his food bowl out, his water fresh, and his toys ready to be played with... just in case he decided to saunter through the catflap. Now I know that won't be happening, and I know it's time to grieve and move on. I don't do hope very well, but I do know how to grieve.
