The feedback concerning EV’s new look has been overwhelmingly positive. I, for one, am glad. Thanks to Apothegm Design’s marvelous new style, I’m finally rid of all the snake and snake-related things. Three years was enough.

Thanks to Agent Bedhead, the site now reflects my initial concept of what “Electric Venom” really meant: the kind of bitchy wittiness typically found at the bottom of a martini glass. Hence the image in the header.

The changes aren’t solely cosmetic, either. The list of Recent Posts is available for those who want to quickly find the latest updates. The “Contact Me” page is also fixed, and the sidebar is now far less cluttered.

Best of all, I’m now using Coldforged-style “Asides” — you’ll find them on the main page in the little boxes. They’re ideal for those one-liners that don’t merit a full blog post. Often, that’s all I have time for — or can come up with — so having “Asides” means I’m likely to update the page far more often.

The Asides scroll down the page as new ones are added. That means, even if there’s not fresh main content, there may be some new juicy Asides for your clicking pleasure. Since you can leave comments on the Asides as well as on the entries, I hope they’ll help increase the site’s interactivity.

All in all, I am a happy little camper right now. Even if it’s not martini o’clock yet.
