It's mediocre, but bigger than I expected when we moved here. They have a dozen computers and there's always a small crowd around them, and the kids' section usually has something going on, but it seems like I was having to special order most of the non-fiction books I wanted to read. I either buy used books by the lot, shop Amazon or rely on the kindness of friends like Leslie, who sent me a nice batch of books earlier this year.

Coll was on NPR's Fresh Air today - good interview. This is normally not the kind of book I like to read but I would probably do so...if I could get it. Since I can't get it from Amazon, I guess I will wait for the library. How's the library in LV these days? When I was growing up - the school library was often much better than the LV public library. All I ever get on Amazon these days is that half-page or greater ad for Kindle. I don’t want a Kindle. Make it go away.

I don’t even want to think about why Amazon would choose to feature the down-on-America book instead of the one about the Bin Ladens. Might have to change my buying habits.
