Happy Blogiversary!
My Envenomed pal, Anwyn, is celebrating her one-year blogiversary. Go tell her to keep up the good work!

Note to organizers of interfaith events designed to help Christians understand Islam: you might want to pick speakers who don’t dismiss a murder as an “aberration” and who consider it rational for riots to break out over a cartoon.
But if you do choose such speakers, don’t be surprised if Anwyn calls them on the carpet.
I’ve had it. Anwyn’s got it and so does Bean. It’s the curse of EV:
Starting last week, it was like this: Flu for him. Flu for me. Chipper recovery for him, though a lingering cough prevented him going back to preschool (which he just started on Feb. 1 after January’s round, I might add). Disgusting mystery illness for me that involved progressively worsening nausea and the nastiness that goes with that. The only reason the blog had anything was because I was bedridden–just put a few things up whenever I felt well enough.
Thank goodness her mother’s there to take care of them! Go show her some love, people, and maybe some chicken soup.
Folks, please welcome Jim, the latest Envenomed who’d rather be anywhere else but here for the holidays.
Allow me to introduce the fourth member of the Envenomed, Mad William Flint, who not only remembers CBGB in its heyday as I do, but who has done an admirable job of getting under your skin, as a true Venomite should.
I’m so excited to have Anwyn, Jeff and Mad William joining me here at EV. Please make them feel welcome among us Venomites, folks. They hiss for all of us. Long may they hiss!
In addition to the newly-Envenomed Anwyn, birthday boy Jeff Harrell is joining EV as a contributing author. Jeff’s probably a bit hung over this morning, what with his birthday celebrations and all.
Still, it’ll be nice to have a bit of testosterone around here, I think.
After running EV as a solo blog for nearly four years, I’ve about exhausted my supply of uninformed, off-the-cuff opinions. So, in the spirit of freshening this place a bit, I’ve invited several bloggers to become contributing authors here at EV.
First up, please welcome Anwyn, a self-described sometime editor and all-the-time mother whose blog captured my interest a while back.
Back in October I had the pleasure of reviewing Amy Schiebe’s book, What Do You Do All Day?.
Schiebe’s writing is fresh and direct, and her depiction of the inner life of a SAHM is both revealing and conspiratorial. Her freshman novel captures the feelings and fears that plague all mothers and brings them to life on the page in a way that is cathartic for both her and her readers.
And now, for some fantastic news: Ms. Schiebe will be writing a guest blog entry here at Electric Venom in the very near future!
Cool, eh?
