You can get the Alli starter kit for 66.99 at Costco and Sam’s with 150 pills. That is a nice savings over the starter 90 pack. I have been taking it since friday with no side effects.

Is it wrong that I’m hoping this is available in Canada? I mean I think I can deal with oily discharge - did that just make you go ‘ew’
But seriously, this drug is getting a lot of hype.
the dosage on the over the counter is about 50% of the perscription version called Xenical. I know Xenical is available in Canada. I think Alli will be there as well. I thought I read that somewhere. So far No discharge for me. I will see what happens over the next day or so. You still need to watch what you eat. I think It might help.
I double checked. They plan to submit to Canadian officials by the end of the year for approval. I wonder i any US companies will ship this to Canada now?

My Doc won’t give me any prescriptions, well he wouldn’t when I asked him in 2006. I’ve lost 65lbs, gained back 30lbs and now working on that 30lbs. But if this pill works it would be nice to have it work along side my normal efforts.
My pharmacist told me this was coming out. I hate hate HATE that it’s OTC.
At least you’ll know when someone around you is using it, thanks to what it does to the toilet.
There was a nice little snark about this on a third-season episode of Veronica Mars that I just watched, something about how researchers are killing animals so some guy in the suburbs can keep eating pork rinds and cheeseburgers. (I’m not saying Alli uses animal testing — I have no knowledge one way or the other. But it’s an amusing point.)
Trish — you might want to talk to a different doctor. I didn’t WANT a prescription but my doctor and I worked out a plan that involved me exercising a lot and eating better and using a pill to control my hunger, which was really out-of-control.
Anyway, I really don’t like the idea of Alli.
Trish, you reminded me of when I left a bottle of herbal diet pills on my kitchen counter. A friend, who had been trying to lose 100 before I lose 35, said she was afraid of taking herbal supplements because of the health risks.
“What, you mean compared to the risks of us being overweight?” I asked.
She started taking them and lost 70 before I’d even lost 15. Bitch.
