DHL Screwed Up AGAIN!
You know, for a while there I felt pretty bad about how much I’d complained when DHL took over 2 weeks to deliver a 2-day package. I mean, it really was very thoughtful of the Regional Manager to drive all the way to my house to say that DHL was sorry for the outrageous delay.
And, I have to admit they did deliver one package on time last month, which I hoped was a sign they’d straightened things out.
Silly me.
Today DHL brought another package to my door. This one was a box of books that Leslie of Leslie’s Omnibus sent me… on December 24, 2007.
That’s right: it took DHL Express one month and 25 days to deliver a package.
Unfortunately, the Venomous Hubby was the one who answered the door when the driver stopped by. If it’d been me, well, let’s just say you’d be reading VH’s first blog entry here at EV as he informed you of my incarceration.

I’m so sorry. That’s so bad that it’s really, really funny.
See if you can get it to happen again. Maybe you can hold the record, if you don’t already.
Shocking, isn’t it? VH glanced at the shipping date and said “Amazing.” I’d started to object, but then I realized that it really IS amazing how badly their service sucks.
UPS all the way - I hate how they call themselves “Brown” but they are extremely reliable dudes.
My UPS dude is kinda hot.
Great googly moogly…

Oddly enough, they billed me for shipment of this package on January 25th — and they still couldn’t find it in their tracking system. Yes, I’m certainly contesting this bill. And thanks for the post. I’m adding it to the stack of correspondence I’m sending to them.
Urgh!
(BTW — Glad you finally got the books. I just dug up the first three of the Brian Jacques Redwall series
. Let me know if you think they’re something you and the Big-Eyed Boy might enjoy reading together.

Isn’t the Redwall series badgers and mice and stuff? Good books.

Oh, those sound awesome! They’re probably a shade too advanced for the Big-Eyed Boy (he’s only 7) right now, but they definitely sound like something that I’d love. And since I tend to hold onto books forever (or send them to Kim), they’d probably still be here when he grew into them.
Right now I have a huge stack of books to read. They’ll probably get me through the middle of next month. So, if you still prefer DHL let me know and I’ll pay the shipping NOW so they arrive by, say, this summer?
