For a moment, I could’ve sworn I’d plunged into a time warp. First, I found myself waiting at a pedestrian crossing while a girl wearing an altogether too-short mini-skirt, platform boots and flat-ironed hair minced across the street. Then I was nearly rear-ended by a boy (who must’ve seen the girl) sporting a crew cut. I haven’t seen those, well, since the last time platform boots were in style.
Then I read about a bus driver making black kids sit in the back of the school bus while the seats up front were reserved for whites.
I checked my calendar and found that it’s not the 1960s. Guess that just means the world remains overpopulated with idiots.
