The wine dude introduced it by saying that at every tasting he asks people what name they’d give it. Apparently at one tasting there was a woman who’d been quiet and withdrawn up until that point, then she said “Call it ‘Sex by the Fire’.”

Well, when I had three sips of it he asked what I’d call it and I said, “Name it ‘Take Me Now!’” VH proceeded to order 6 bottles.

From what I hear, that’s the nickname the wine dude’s been using for it ever since.

Yeah, it’s that good.

Bor Forras 2006 Hajos-Baja – I’m writing that down as I’m quite picky about red wines. Some of them I don’t like at all. Thanks for the tip.

But since David Cook comes from Blue Springs, MO — which is about 1 hour away — it’s impossible to turn on the local news without seeing something about him. So I checked out his last couple of performances on YouTube and was impressed with how much he’s improved since earlier this season.

I still think he has a Potato Head, though.

Bourbon sounds nice. I’m going to have a glass of Bor Forras 2006 Hajos-Baja, the only red wine I actually enjoy. But not until dinner.

I’ve never seen American Idol and nothing I’ve read about it on blogs or elsewhere has intrigued me enough to even find out what day or days it’s on.

I’m just not big on pop culture, or fashion, or whatever. People who keep up with it and like it don’t bother me at all, so I’m not complaining. Just commenting

As for booze, today I’m going for whatever’s in the house, which is looking like either scotch or bourbon. I have ice, so I’m good.

I caught an interview with Simon Cowell on “Ellen” yesterday (there was nothing else on TV while I was ironing), and she asked him who he thinks will win.

He’s betting on Cook, then pointed out that most media types better hope Cook wins, too, because interviews with David Archuletta will consist of “Gosh” and “Gee” and “Aw, thanks” and then how do you fill the other 2 minutes of air time?
