Tippling Tuesday, Round 6

by Venomous Kate

Already going insane just thinking about all of the time you’ll be spending with your extended family over the Thanksgiving holiday? Sounds like you could use a celebration of Tippling Tuesday, the evening on which we raise a glass or two (OK, three, tops) in celebration of the week’s most underrated, oft-neglected day.

This week, thanks to a recommendation from a friend, I’m giving Ciroc vodka a turn in the ol’ martini shaker. Unlike the stuff I normally swill, this vodka is made from grapes — not grain, corn or potatoes — and distilled five times. From what I’ve been told, it’s so smooth you hardly know you’re actually drinking. That may or may not be a good thing. At least by the second I hope to forget that Ciroc’s made in France. Between Grey Goose and now Ciroc, I can’t help but wondering: when on earth did the French turn into the world’s best vodka makers?

Anyway, tonight’s drink was recommended by the very same friend as a perfect way to highlight Ciroc’s sweet, delicate flavor:

The White Grape Martini

1-1/2 oz. Ciroc Vodka
1-1/2 oz. White Grape Juice

Dip the rim of your martini glass in sugar, and shake the liquids together then strain into the glass. Serve garnished with a frozen grape or two.

Bottoms up!

  1. I am a week late but I owe you and TT,R5 a thank you.

Last Tuesday I was had a bad day and just after I solved my problems for the day, I read your post reminding us it was Tippling Tuesday. Normally I’ll have one drink a week and usually on Friday. However TT, after the day I had had, was perfect! Except dinner was 3 hours late due to one of the problems so by bed time I felt “wonderful.”

Morale: Eat early on TT if over ______.

P.S. I love your comment editing I use it constantly.

  2. You are SO welcome! I probably should have explained earlier that on Tippling Tuesdays I always make a crockpot dinner. That way I’m done cooking by, oh, 9 o’clock AM. Good thing, too, because once the martinis start flowing I just don’t feel like doing much… except, perhaps, playing video games.

Which reminds me: I’ve got a new one!

    Sweet.

  3. What a tasty sounding drink!

I will try this, as soon as I can get some Ciroc!
