Tippling Tuesday: What’s In Your Glass?

Tragedy has struck. That’s right tragedy: we’re out of booze.

No, I mean it. There’s none. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Not a drop to drink.

Now, ordinarily this would call for an immediate dash to the drive-through liquor store but after ranting about people who don’t plan ahead and therefore use extra gas, I decided we ought to tough this one out. (Not that I think the clerk at the liquor store actually reads blogs… much less reads period). I just don’t want to feel like a hypocrite.

So tonight I’m sticking with TaB soda in a beer mug.

What’s in your glass?

Wine, as usual. Red wine, tonight. Chateau de Caillac, Graves (Bordeaux) 2005.

I really need to go pick up some whiskey. Or scotch. I have none in the house, and I miss Manhattans.

I didn’t know that Tab even still existed.

And, Kat, why isn’t just plain scotch, neat, good enough? And what is a Manhattan? I suspect that I don’t want to know what good people do to good booze.

The only thing I’ll allow myself to drink alone is bailey’s (and the occasional glassbottle of wine.

So yeah, took a nip out of the bottle tonight.

Last night, it was a cup of Lemon-Ginger tea to sooth my irritated tummy.
Tonight, it will be terrible hospital coffee to keep me going through a night shift. I predict that I will need more Lemon-Ginger tea to compensate for the coffee. I’m starting to see a pattern here.

I typed all night accompanied by a big mug of Cherry Coke One and Vanilla Coke one. Mixed! With ice cubes!

I’m such a rebel.

*facepalm* It’s PEPSI One and COKE Zero.

Whatthafackever.

So insert Cherry Coke Zero and Vanilla Coke Zero in there.

I can see that thinking the marathon all-night typing sessions isn’t affecting me would BE A LIE.

Bacardi gold and Coke Zero. I suppose I should try to think of a clever name for this variation on rum and Coke, but I’m being lazy this morning.

Suddenly, my cup of black coffee seems terribly dull.
