I mentioned earlier that my husband’s going to be teaching out of town during the months of July and August, leaving me unsupervised as I continue finishing up various projects around the house. Silly man.
Today, my son just added a new project to my list. Apparently, now that he’s 7 years old, he feels that the “Transportation” theme I created in his bedroom is just a bit too young. Perhaps that’s because a 5 year-old friend, who came yesterday for a short visit, said that he wants a room just like the Big-Eyed Boy’s.
Apparently my son also believes that, now that he’s 7 years old, he is entitled to pick out his own room decor. His idea? Camouflage walls and sheets with a toy rifle rack and metal furniture. No, I doubt he realizes how difficult it is to find camouflage kids bedding, nor does he care.
I’d be worried about his rather militaristic taste, but I’m thinking it’s not such a bad idea. With all that camo, maybe his room will stop looking like a tornado hit a toy store.

We did my son’s room i camo this past fall. The walls are a nuetral color but the bedding and wall plates are camo. He’s big into hunting so I bought antler chain pulls for his ceiling fan from eBay. It looks pretty cool.

Have you tried the BX/PX? (Aafes online?) They usually feature some camo bedding. The one I saw online was digicamo and I think it was only queen/king, but I can check again for ya.

Hehe… ask.com is your friend…
Camo Shop.
Of course I didn’t really look at it – just thought it was excellent fun that I type in Camo sheets and this comes up. *grin*

Thank you, thank you, thank you, ladies!
I’m going to do a spin on Charmed’s suggestion and paint three of his walls a buff color, then do a camo paint pattern on the wall his bed is against. With camo bedding, that’s going to look so neat!

If he wants to upgrade transportation to more adultlike transportation themes, I could probably finagle a bit of DHL schwag for you. That or you could wallpaper in shipping documents – hey, not every boy could lay claim to THAT cool of a room.

What is it about boys and THAT age? Both of my sons had camo rooms right around 7-8 years old. I got their stuff at Domestications.com.
