I honestly didn't know WHY I did that, but it seemed like the right thing to do. She has high arches and tiny feet (childrens size 3). And whenever she spends a lot of time on her feet, as when I drag her shopping at SAMs or Home Depot, she needs to use such a thingie. So, when I saw it, I got it. Now she's 'running' for state legistlature. She'll be on her feet for HOURS each day; going door-to-door 'selling' herself. I'm either psychic or she thought my gift was a nudge for her to 'run'.
