To everyone who donated yesterday, I apologize for not sending my Thank You until this morning. I think I tried to do too much yesterday. I almost fell asleep at the dinner table, and wound up going to bed even before my little boy did. Evidently, that’s precisely what I needed.

As of this morning, the Fang Fund has reached $7697.42 thanks to your contributions! I am astonished, and eagerly looking forward to seeing the amazed look on my dentist’s face as I make another payment this Friday when I go to his office to get my “flippers” (the temporary retainers) at last!

I am also very much looking forward to being able to go out in public again, thanks to the plastic teeth that are affixed to the flippers. I still won’t be able to eat solid foods until my gums heal enough for the permanent bridges to be installed — around 5 more weeks — but I won’t be trapped at home and feeling like a freak anymore!

A number of you have asked me to post a picture of my new smile once the work is finally complete. I’m not only planning to do just that, but I’ll be posting it alongside a picture of the “Before” shot (the way I look right now) so you can see what a marvelous thing you’ve done for me. Believe me, I’m as eager to see that “After” shot as you are!
