Friday Five

Yippee! Another thing I can cross of my “To Do” list for the day.

1. Would you consider yourself an organized person? Why or why not?
That depends upon: (1) whether the planets are in alignment; (2) how long it’s been since I took my medication; (3) how quickly my latest attempts at imposing organization were undone by family members; and (4) whether I can think of enough witty things to put in a list.

2. Do you keep some type of planner, organizer, calendar, etc. with you, and do you use it regularly?
Oh, please. I’m married. That means I am the household “planner, organizer, calendar, etc.” and, yes, I feel used regularly.

3. Would you say that your desk is organized right now?
What desk? The last time I had a desk, my husband started “borrowing it” to use the computer, then left his dishes, used Kleenex, candy wrappers and other crap laying all over it. I can’t see my “desk” for all of his clutter. So the desk – and its mess – is now his. I use the kitchen table.

4. Do you alphabetize CDs, books, and DVDs, or does it not matter?
I categorize by genre, then alphebetize within. Ok, so I’m a little fussy…

5. What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to organize?
The Slutertarian Political Party, of course!

Friday Five

The Friday Five didn’t smack of hairy arm-pitted granola this week, so here goes:

1. What was the first band you saw in concert? Van Halen. The real one. With David Lee Roth.

2. Who is your favorite artist/band now? It’s a tie between Aretha Franklin and Mozart.

3. What’s your favorite song? Over the Rainbow as sung by Israel “Iz” Kamakawiwo’ole (or, as we know him in these parts, “Bruddah Iz“). I always have to stop and just listen.

4. If you could play any instrument, what would it be? A nice, mellow acoustic guitar.

5. If you could meet any musical icon (past or present), who would it be and why? Billie Holiday. Because she’s Billie Holiday.
