Here we are, in 2005. Had you asked me a decade ago, I would’ve predicted the world’s end by now. For once, I’m happy to be wrong.
But here it is — yet another fresh start. A new beginning. A gloriously blank calendar upon which we’ve been granted the grace to write appointments, dates and reminders. Let’s hope that this year — finally, this year — we use that power to mark only those things which truly matter.
My New Year’s wishes and resolutions are simple:
1. This year, I will show my husband how deeply and madly I love him, leaving no room in his mind for doubt.
2. This year, I will place my time with my children ahead of everything other demand, obligation, commitment and whim, because the time I’ve been granted with them is all too short.
3. This year, I hope that you and I will truly see peace on earth and good will toward all mankind, because there are too many of our men and women in uniform spending this night on cold, foreign soil while at home there are warm hearts, homes and beds waiting for them.
Be well, be safe, and be merry.
And make it a Venomous New Year.

Amen! What a way to start it. If you want to start on a good deed help the survivors of south east asia.

Happy New Year Kate!!… hope the hubby’s heart is in good shape
.
I think anyone that knows or was a soldier hopes for peace.. I’d bet anyone who is/was a VFW member would love to see the organinzation cease to exsist cause it wasn’t needed anymore … I don’t see it for 2005.. but there is always 2006
