Sounds to ME like next year you should rearrange the budget, research and purchase, wrap and arrange to have gifts that are exactly what you want under the tree. From “Santa,” of course.

Pointedly open them and exclaim how Santa could POSSIBLY HAVE KNOWN exactly what YOU wanted for Christmas!
