I’m Better…Barely
For those who asked, No. I didn’t take another header off the bike. This time it was the stairs and I blame a box of books from eBay which, unfortunately, led me to an encounter with The Big-Eyed Boy’s misplaced tennis shoe.
Anyway, the good news is that I’m (mostly) mobile again.
The bad news is that I’ve got a pinched nerve stemming from a herniated disc…and a bad attitude. Surgery is, unforuntately, very likely in my near future.
In the meantime I’ve got no choice but to baby myself. And, well, I don’t do that well. That’s what the VH is for, right? (Joke, people. Back off… No pun intended.)
So blogging — like pain relief — will be intermittent for a while.
As I always say: “There’s just not enough vodka in this world.” Evidently, I’m destined to prove myself right.
You have the same issue Wonder Woman has too. Everyone loses in this situation. I guess VH is picking up everything around the house like I have done. Oh…I stopped doing that because I’m in Oman now. Regretably she is on her own for awhile.
Sorry to about your fall. Get well soon.
Hate to hear about your fall & herniated discs. Having 3 of them myself, I feel your pain and no, there isn’t enough vodka in the world.
GAH! That’s awful. Tell ya what. You can have my triple ration of vodka ’til yer on the up and up, I’ll switch off to tequila in the meantime.
*hic*
Meouch!!! But trust me.. there is enough (to much) vodka… My new fun.. Pama(pommigranite liquour) and kettle one… yum….
My question was mostly facetious, but I was wondering what happened. This just hasn’t been your year for injuries, has it? :-/
Glad to hear you’re doing marginally better, and I really don’t envy you. If you need to set up a Vodka Fund, by all means.
Gee, I didn’t think there was ANYTHING a very dry Belvedere “up with a twist” would not cure….
Get well soon.
Don’t jump the gun on surgery. My Dad had a very similar injury, herniated disk with a pinched nerve. His neurologist suggested that he tough it out and extended his pain medication prescription. Two months later, he is completely back to normal. According to his doctor, the latest research suggests that back injuries will many times heal themselves better than surgery.
I have a herniated disc but did not op for surgery. I just try to get along with it but there are a lot of time I wish I had the balls to just get cut. I feel your pain!
I second the comment suggesting a wait for surgery, research shows that surgery rarely corrects herniated discs properly and often leads to a lifetime of problems after. Have you visited a chiropracter for another opinion?
