It's awesome to have my son ask if I'll play the Rolling Stones (one of my all-time favorite bands) when we're in the car. Hey, he even sat through "Shine a Light" with me!

Haha. I know what this is like. I know many kids/teenagers who love Guitar Hero...and most, if not all, the songs they really, really like are the old ones: Mississippi Queen for instance. Too funny.

I took my little bug (14yrs at the time and 15 yrs ago) to Meatloaf. Too much of a good thing cured us both.

You're going to have so much fun!

As the big sister, I took my little sister to her first two concerts and her taste in music has not improved over the years. The first one was the Carpenters, then John Denver.

Fortunately my children had better taste. I took my oldest and 5 of her friends to see Poison, and later, Metallica.

I didn't get to take my youngest to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Her high school orchestra performed at Carnegie Hall and I lost the lottery to be a chaperone.

(I'm gonna be so thrilled if my italics work!)

That is very cool.

Red has made sure that each of her kids has been exposed to music from the time she was first aware that she was pregnant. They all respond to different things - Little Red is a big fan of Andrew Lloyd Weber, particularly Phantom of the Opera and Cats. Thing#1 is all about 60's rock - she's into the Beatles, Janis Joplin, and so on, although since she's 11, she's also quite into Hannah Montana. Thing#2 is my hard-rock/heavy metal kid. She's into Avril Levigne, Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith, and NIN. lol

The Little Pirate hasn't made his preferences clear yet, although he went NUTS for Beethoven's Symphony #9 when I played it for him a week or two ago, and his favorite morning cartoon to watch with his sisters is Little Einsteins.

Seriously? That's too cool. My mom and her boyfriend took me to my first concert, as well. They even gave me some MD/7Up to drink. (Reeeeallly light on the MD but I felt so grown up!) My mom's face said not to push it when the big fat party joint was passed my way, though.

Really, it's a fond memory of mine - I think it's pretty damn cool.
