The first Posiedon Adventure was decent. This modern remake was complete and utter crap. The ending was spectacularly bad, considering the remarkably poor amount of engineering thought that went into it.

Consider: This cruise ship supposedly has bow thrusters. Bow thrusters are nothing more than propellers turned sideways and mounted in tube that goes all the way through the bow of a ship. This particular ship had two propellers per tube. To make thrust, both of those propellers will have to turn the same direction (or at least impell water in the same direction), otherwise they will just cancell each other out.

Guess what the film-makers did? Cancelled them out.

Leave it to Hollywood to frak up perfectly simple science.

If your idea of entertainment is Alcohol and pornography, then you are more warped than I ever thought. Have you considered the possibility that some people may extract joy in this life from the gentle arts? Also, there is not one arab country, including non-arab, such as Iran, and Turkey that prohibit a man and a woman to be seen together. You see Kate you have never traveled outside the sphere of America so I do not expect you to know these things. Truth is Kate, this conservative streak you have is completely blind and illegitimate since it is a product of your mindless devotion to your mercenary husband currently serving in Iraq no doubt.

I have to say, though, that he’s done a fabulous job of using those $5 words. Technically, everything he said was correctly constructed, but I’m afraid I’m at a bit of a loss (being a stupid American). That bit about your conservative streak being illegitimate lost me completely, given that your hubby isn’t in Iraq and your devotion to him is fairly obviously anything but mindless.
