I am in Indiana, and yes we are about dying from the heat and humidity… but that won’t stop my daughter and me from going camping tomorrow night. She’s in her 30s, and we both need at least one night away from the men.
I’m introducing her to the mellow feeling of sipping Wild Turkey 101, and some plunking from the mandolin I’m learning to play. Some woman talk, and food.
And if it all gets to be too much heat, we will invite ourselves over to spend time with our neighbor and their airconditioned travel trailer.

Ah… There’s just something about staying at a hotel (not on business, though, ewwww).

Flap is right – Indiana has been miserable. My best friend from there just visited – then she went home, and guess where she would rather be? LOL! Too bad you aren’t visiting the SF Bay area….

I’m excited for you! Get-away weekends are soooo nice.

I was going to ask you about the casino.

The wife and I just returned from Las Vegas. She is becoming quite the poker player and won a tournament.

We are returning in September for another complimentary stay while she attempts to win $40,000.

Me, I will watch and play in the limit cash poker games and try not to lose too much.

That’s what I’m thinking, too: indoors it won’t matter. I usually try not to eat at hotel restaurants, since I like checking out local cuisine. But since I’ve lived in the area over half of my life, there’s not much I haven’t already explored.

Hence my requirements for a hotel with a bar that allows smoking, early check-in, late room service and shuttle service to the casino. Ca-ching!

Our friends in Indiana are just dying from the heat and humidity and my son leaves for Purdue next week.
