Our cats have been playing chase and tag in the tree for two weeks now. They also think it’s great fun to pounce on passing humans whilst perched in the tree. Merry Christmas to all (and merry catnip to some in particular)…

This year’s tree is a $4 Norfolk Island Pine from WalMart complete with a couple of ornaments and a Santa “lollypop”. We added a tiny string of battery operated lights. Since Duncan likes to climb and knock the branches out of the “real” artificial tree, we decided to get a small real growing tree. It’s sitting in a pie pan in a macramé hanging thingy in the window. There’s small plastic plate above it to keep the strings of the macramé off the tree itself. Duncan hasn’t tried to climb it. If I can keep it alive, we’ll keep up with this living Christmas tree for years. It’s tiny, but since it’s hanging in the window there’s PLENTY of room for presents.
