Stop And Smell My Flowers

by Venomous Kate

With VH being so far away, it’s made for some rather dull evenings around the Venomous Household. The Big-Eyed Boy and I are doing our best to stay busy: we’ve played more rounds of Rachet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal! than I care to count. We catch fireflies every evening (and release them in the morning). We bake cookies. We read bedtime stories together in my bed, and we have breakfast together every morning.

It’s all made my husband’s business trip a bit easier on my son — which was certainly the intention — but I still find myself wishing the days would fly by a bit faster.

Today, however, VH took a minute of his time to let me know he’s been thinking about me, too: he sent me flowers. Beautiful, fragrant flowers that remind me with every whiff that I am loved.

Did you know that the Japanese word for happiness is Genki? The smell of flowers make me happy. So does having a husband who knows that.
