Ahhh nice to find another female that really just hates jeans. I don't have the waist-hip ratio problem but I'm 5'11 and a size 8/10 and they just don't make jeans for people with legs/waist like mine. I hate jeans yet that is definitely the trend these days. My friends (in the mid 20's age) almost exclusively wear jeans and a flirty top out to everything form a chichi club to bowling. I understand jeans to bowling but I just don't think they are really all that attractive to wear when you are suppose to be "dressed up" to go out. Besides they aren't even that comfortable. Especially when it's hot. I'm strictly a skirt girl.

LOL...I used to love skirts, for exactly that reason- waist- hip ratio. Of course, now it's more my thighs (they're trying to conquer Manhattan) and the waist has spread a bit (ok, more than a bit). I do really like stretch khakis, though, cause they give where I need them to while still looking reasonably fitted.

Ha! When I entered basic, I wore 32x36 501's. After six weeks in fatigues, those jeans felt really tight and, well, uncomfortable. I just got to the point where I'm 'square' - 36x36, 21 years later. I also want to make it clear that skirts on a woman are nice, but a pair of nice-fitting 501's on a woman is unbeleeeevably sexy.

Show me a person that prefers skirts to pants, and I'll show you a man. There is just SOMETHING about a woman in a skirt. ;)

Devil Fabric!
I've joked that BJU considers denim to be the devil fabric, judging by their restrictive policies against jeans: Guys aren't allowed to wear jeans unless they're working outside (and maybe while playing sports, but I'm not sure); girls are allowed ...

Reading this, I felt like it was my own diary of jean shopping/wearing. I have the EXACT same problem you do -- waist/hip ratio. I loved the camel toe reference:) For what it's worth, I try to dry jeans on the delicate/low heat cycle to minimize shrinkage, even if it takes an extra cycle or two to completely dry them.

I hate shopping for jeans. Or pants. Or anything that fits onto my body waist-down. I've gotten to that point myself where the ate-too-much are too tight, too. I think if I wasn't require to wear pants on the 4 nights a week I work my second job, I would try that skirt thing more often. I used to love wearing tights and skirts! Heh. Thanks for the nostalgia.

ps: I think you're the second person I've seen in the past day that's mentioned Doc Martins. How great they are. And soo much better than those damn Mukluks. ACGH.

I believe the term you're looking for is "prostitots" and it bothers me that parents would consciously dress their children this way.

My wife has worn skirts everyday for years now. She believes that since she is a woman she should dress accordingly. And you are sooooo right about the fashions today. To many girls are looking like S%lts to be of any good. When we go to the mall we sometimes wonder if we are in a womans dressing room with the way they are dressed or lack there of.
I am sure you husband will apreciate the fact you feel better in them and not showing so much of yourself to others as well, it's all for him you know...;->)
