While you’re in KC you might as well eat at some good restaurants. You probably have your preferences, but here are a few of my KC faves (in no particular order): 1) the BLT at the The Peanut (the original Peanut at 49th and Main, not the lame pseudo-Peanuts around town); 2) Rosedale BBQ burnt ends — yep, it’s the best in town. Bryant’s? Gates? Pshaw! Those places are for the Iowans in town for the Plaza lights. 3) Another great BBQ place — Lil’ Jakes Eat It and Beat It (downtown, around 10th and Grand) 4) Want more upscale? The American’s always great. If it’s too pricey — which it often is — 39th Street has developed a number of really good places. Mimi’s is Vietnamese and is awesome — try the spring rolls.

Wow, I rarely if ever miss KC, but after writing this I guess it’s time for a trip back myself. Enjoy your stay.
