I'd say it depends on their length and the top you're wearing. Short shorts with a blousy top would look great with wedge ankle boots in cool weather or wedge platforms in warmer weather. Mid-length shorts look good with pointy-toed pumps or gladiator-style platforms. Longer shorts (gauchos, really) look great with high boots that disappear beneath the hem and a fitted top.

Remember trophy wives are made, not born.

Bahahahaha! Good point.

I still chuckle that Pam Anderson - the rabid PETA spokeswoman - was the one who initially made these boots famous in the U.S. Apparently, sheep are okay in her book to wear but not eat.

I have a true Uggs story that occurred a couple of years ago in a large ski/outdoor store in a wealthy area of our city where my daughter was the buyer.

Daughter was called out on the sales floor to explain to a rich, noisy woman why the were out of her size in the style of Uggs she wanted to purchase. Daughter explained to the woman that Uggs were rather hard to get since they were made of a finite number of natural materials.

Uggs were allocated to stores based upon previous years purchase, etc. The woman did not want to listen and kept getting louder so then daughter told he that there were only so many lambs born each year in New Zealand (or Australia, I don’t remember) and no matter how much the company would like to ramp up production of Uggs, God allowed momma sheep to have only so many baby lambs at a time.

It never occurred to the woman that the excellent Ugg boots were an animal product and then she went off on a loud rant about how disgusting a business was that would make money off of selling parts of dead babies.

My daughter called me and told me the story and then she asked me that age old question, “How can stupid people be so rich?” My reply was to ask, what color was the ladies hair, body shape and then I told daughter that maybe the woman had other wonderful qualities that did not have to do with intelligence. Remember trophy wives are made, not born.

By the way, daughter and grand daughter love their Uggs.

I love my Uggs and I miss them when I am away from them. People may hate me for them, but I know what comfort feels like.

I also own leg warmers.

By the time I finish arguing with mine over WHY he needs to go get my paper and how I am NOT making his breakfast until he does so, it's not really "news" any more.

Thanks for the safety tip. As we all know, if it's possible to fall down somewhere, I'll be the one to do it.
