My husband keeps telling me that boys are far, far, far worse than I can ever imagine.

I’m afraid we are so out of touch with all the group dating and hooking up that we won’t even know when our daughter’s in a situation that would horrify us.

The only one I'm not worried about is my upcoming son...between his three older sisters, his mother, and all of his female cousins (11 out of 14 kids in that generation are girls), he'll grow up knowing to treat women/girls with respect. I intend to enforce that. My girls on the other hand....not so much. I've already had to talk to the ten-year-old about smooching with a boy on the bus. I am so glad all my girls are married now. My husband (their stepfather) used to "initiate" a new boyfriend by thoroughly inspecting their car, lecturing them on driving skills, and how running out of gas was not an acceptable excuse for not getting his precious angel home on time. Later, after marriage, the girls were laughing about this routine of his and said that it really helped weed out the ones that weren't worth a second date. Donna B.'s last blog post..Puppy Update
