I think my long rant-like comment got lost. This one probably won't be as rant-y.

Kate, this is a very insightful post, and it's excellent advice for both parties. To analogize it, if you're selling Hondas, you shouldn't be talking shit about Toyotas... you should be talking about Hondas.

Now, that said, I'm pissed off at the whole debate thing. On my ballot, there were 9 Presidential candidates. There are more, but I think only 9 made the Tennessee ballot. If people want INTERESTING debates, at least bring the "Big 3" independents in there (Libertarian, Green, and Constitutional Parties).

I'm frustrated with the fact that we essentially have a two-party system, and that the government wants to keep it that way while keeping up appearances that it's really not. So we're left thinking that it's down to 2 guys, both out of touch with America while pretending they're not. One guy does nothing but talk about his opponent, while the opponent spouts buzzwords and magically waves his hand and America thinks it sees, to quote Jimi, "Butterflies and Zebras, and moonbeams."

I'll cut this short, any longer and I'll probably have to just blog it my damned self. :p

See, Linc, that's the problem: McCain's not an economist, nor is the average American. They hear "regulation" and think that's a GOOD thing because regulation = rules and rules = what Wall Street should've had.

The argument you want McCain to make is precisely Obama's weakness: going so esoterical that the typical voter just won't get it.

He needs to talk dollars in our pockets and MOST importantly he needs to distance himself from Dubya.

Who says he has to do either one or the other? Why not both?

He needs to take the question mark off himself and put it squarely on Obama's forehead. The more I hear about Obama's past the more my blood runs ice cold. Black liberation, 60s radicalism, domestic terrorism, Fannie Mae, etc, etc. WTF???

By the time McCain finishes the debate tonight all of America should be left with the impression that Obama had somehow started destroying the economy the minute he was born, and also emphasize that he wanted to REGULATE Wall Street to rebut this deregulation crap the libturds are spewing. Really take that deregulation myth and ram it back up Obambi's ass where it belongs.
