Of course, I forgot. Australia, the UK and virtually most other western nations sat on their hands and did nothing in those periods of natural disaster. Not.

Sorry, can you just stop with the whole – the rest of the world would be crap without the USA – thing. I don’t know how your own media spins the rest of the world to you, but out here in reality, we do or own bit too. Australia is continually intervening in East Timor and many of the Pacific Islands by ourselves. Many European countries provide tons of aid for Africa. But to listen to you lot, it sounds as if we all do nothing and the US does everything which is patently untrue and also highly offensive.

Sigh – I had to open my mouth, didn’t I.

Los Angeles has very nearly the same population as your entire country, Kimota. Our concerns are a tad bigger than yours - if we get a bit fussed about things you don't think are threats, that's because those threats aren't threats to you. You're not important enough. A quick check of the top ten foreign aid donor countries has the US at a little more than half again the next one down, and more than the next rhree put together, or the rest of the list after that. I often wonder if that money is really worth the cost in foreign goodwill, or to be more accurate, the lack thereof. We've created an international welfare state - I often wonder what would happen if we simply turned the teat off and let the rest of you blame us for that, instead, as though we have some kind of obligation to keep propping your economy up. wgs last blog post..And the vote is in!

Yep, the U.S. does show up where it wasn't invited at times. Most recent I think was the tsunami in SE Asia. Sometimes we show up with giant boatloads of help and it's turned away. Most recent example, Myanmar. Donna B.s last blog post..Misdirected Outrage

Ah, you kidders…

Just trying to think of the last time you ‘saved’ someone that asked to be saved. Ummm… WWII, you refused all calls for help even though there were huge atrocities going on until someone attacked you. It wasn’t about helping us, but defending yourselves. Iraq? Not many people begging for help there either. In fact, you were begging all the other countres come and help you. Korea, everyone answered their call, not just the US.Vietnam – well, let’s just leave that one shall we?

But the US continues this pretence that the world wants them to intervene. Just like the US keeps referring to their President as Leader of the Free World which the rest of us find highly offensive as we don’t vote for him.

The US caused the current messes in Iraq and the world economy. (Okay, the UK didn’t help matters…) Damn straight the rest of the world cares who you choose!

Yeah, I have to agree that the prospect of the world laughing at us doesn’t really concern me very much. As mentioned above, they’ll laugh right up until the next major disaster or military intervention is required, then they’ll be demanding that we save their butts (again).
