While Drudge’s report has stirred up the blogosphere, it’s worth pointing out two pieces of highly contradictory information. Specifically, Drudge’s story claims that Wesley Clark first hinted about the scandal by saying that Kerry will “implode over an intern issue”, yet Clark now appears poised to endorse Kerry.

Also, the Washington Post – one of several media outlets which Drudge says are covering the “scandal” – has denied finding any evidence that Kerry engaged in an extra-marital affair.

Leonard Downie Jr., executive editor of The Washington Post, acknowledged that his staff had begun to dig deeper into the life and career of Kerry, but said he had not heard anything about an alleged infidelity. “What we’re finding, I don’t know,” he said. “This is the first we are looking into him this way.”

Which raises the question: did Kerry pull a Clinton? Or is Drudge trying to pull a Drudge?
