Apparently, John Kerry doesn’t understand the definition of marital property. The anti-SUV candidate was pointedly asked whether he owns a Chevy Suburban. Apparently, his answer turns on what your definition of “mine” is.
Kerry thought for a second when asked whether his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, had a Suburban at their Ketchum, Idaho, home. Kerry said he owns and drives a Dodge 600 and recently bought a Chrysler 300M. He said his wife owns the Chevrolet SUV.
“The family has it. I don’t have it,” he said.
Righty-o, then.

Emulating a previous President, US Grant, who never owned any slaves, but whose wife did.

Guess if he wins, it won’t be his war on terror it will be ours.

IF he wins and they catch Osama, will we get to say it’s not Kerry who caught him, but us?

I live in a condo owned by a corporation, which is ‘run’ by my family, and I always clarify the difference.
It’s not an unusual set-up.

Strictly speaking, he’s probably right that it’s hers, not his. As you know, inherited money generally belongs to the heir(-ess)/devisee alone, even in a community property state (which Mass. isn’t).
Isn’t that con-VEEEE-nient?

Whose name appears on the title to the vehicles? Wouldn’t knowing that settle this question once and for all? This whole subject reminds me of the Starr investigation . . . utterly misguided and a clear sign of desperation. If this is your best shot against Kerry, I guess I feel pretty good about having him as number 44.
