Obama: Proof Lawyers Can’t Do Math
Speaking in Wisconsin today, Obama made a number of promises about just how he’s going to turn the economy around.
I will cut taxes — cut taxes — for 95% of all workers and their families. And if you make less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increase one single dime — because in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle-class.
I will reform our health care system to relieve families, businesses, and the entire economy from the crushing cost of health care by investing in new technology and preventative care. If you have health care, my plan will lower your premiums. If you don’t, you’ll be able to get the same kind of coverage that members of Congress give themselves. And I will stop insurance companies from discriminating against those who are sick and need care the most.
To create new jobs, I’ll invest in rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure — our roads, schools, and bridges. We’ll rebuild our outdated electricity grid and build new broadband lines to connect America. And I’ll create the jobs of the future by transforming our energy economy. We’ll tap our natural gas reserves, invest in clean coal, and find ways to safely harness nuclear power. I’ll help our auto companies re-tool so that the fuel-efficient cars of the future are built right here the United States. I’ll make it easier for the American people to afford these new cars. And I’ll invest 150 billion dollars over the next decade in affordable, renewable sources of energy…. (emphasis mine)
Now, it’s rather well known that I suck at math, but even I have to wonder how he intends to accomplish all of this. Seriously, how on earth does he plan to get money to invest, rebuild and retool while cutting taxes for 95% of American workers?
Ah, silly me. I keep forgetting he’s the Obamessiah. If he can accomplish miracles like coming up with funds for increased expenses while simultaneously lowering federal income, why don’t we just give the presidency to McCain and put Obama onto important tasks, like curing cancer and finding a miracle diet that actually works.

I’m actually leaning more toward Obama, but, all these campaign promises just wear. me. out. Has a president in history ever come through with all the …or heck! most of the promises, they made on the campaign trail?
Now wonder we have so much trouble getting people out to the polls to vote for a bunch of pipe dreams! Sheesh!

Silly, he’s going to raise the tax rate on the top 5% to 100% and take all of their money. He’ll use that to fund all of his initiatives. Also, according to his website, he is going to make sure that all these things are done efficiently and with less waste. Because the only reason things are done wastefully now is that no one has had the vision to say, “Let’s not waste money anymore.”

Ummmm… it’s not even the taxes.
How in the world will OBAMA, as President, do this? Is he telling me he has some billions sitting around in his own bank account? Or is he saying he’ll simply circumvent our current governmental system? That’s the only way HE can do the things he says he’ll do…
I know it’s a trivial little thing but there are 2 houses of Congress too - even if they are totally corrupt and nasty pieces of work. Even if they are Democratically controlled, they still get to say what money gets spent where - don’t they (or did this change since my days of taking government classes). Oh, I know, it’s a minor matter, but one that Obama seems to completely ignore - rather like Nancy Pelosi did this week…
Many of the things he talks about funding are state issues. Roads? There are millions of miles of roads in this country and bridges… I’d say at least in the 100 thousands…he’s committing to all that? Does that mean he’ll pay off the Big Dig and then fix up the atrocious local roads around here? Cool beans man!
How about schools? Schools are still LOCALLY controlled (even with all the current gov interference) - school maintenance is still local to the district. Does he mean he’s going to change the laws and have the federal gov take over the schools???
And let’s just touch on private industry… aren’t auto companies publicly held corporations - not government held? (I may be wrong about this.) So he’s just gonna hand over money to a company and say “go forth and retool!”… really? Will this only be the American companies in Detroit or will he then hand over money to all the foreign car companies who do business in the US and have manufacturing plants here???
Okay if he’s elected (certainly not by me but we’ll see who votes for him) I have just GOT to see this. These are only a short few of the things that immediately spring to the forefront when he starts talking about spending money. He’s an amusing fellow indeed!
If he’s elected, it should be a HIGHLY entertaining Presidency.

Hrmph. The military, with government health care, doesn’t get the same kind of coverage that members of Congress get! But he’ll give it to people who aren’t even serving their country? That sucks. Just screw over the military some more.
It’s easy to cut taxes on 95% of the people when those 95% don’t pay taxes in the first place.
He will soak the ‘rich’ 5% that fund 90% of the tax revenues with much higher taxes….which will cause unemployment to rise, profits to fall, unemployment to rise again….followed by more tax hikes on the ‘rich’, followed by severe inflation to cover for the taxes on ‘corporations’….which don’t really pay taxes since they pass along that cost in higher prices for their goods….which are paid for by the poor idiots who didn’t pay taxes before but are now unemployed , because their ‘rich’ boss had to lay them off, and so on and so forth.
Yes. Vote for the O and feel the pain.
