So Many Search Engines, So Little Time

by Venomous Kate

Back when I started my other blog, I hoped to use it primarily to keep records of interesting things the Big-Eyed Boy and I did during homeschool lessons, along with maybe a personal essay or two. I figured I’d let it languish for the most part, blogging only when the mood strikes, but mostly keeping it available for things I didn’t feel like posting here.

But I forgot what a blog junkie I am. Oh, I’m not quite addicted to blogging: after all, I quit every night when I shut down the laptop, right?

Still, once I began posting the occasional Sponsored Post here on EV, I started thinking that perhaps the best place for those posts is really at my other blog. Or maybe both. Yeah, that’s it: maybe it’s time to start moving the other blog toward a niche? But what kind of niche blog is it — and how profitable can it really be — with only 10 measly incoming links?

Needless to say, I’ve spent the past few days checking out ways to advance the other blog’s overall standing. I’ve browsed a search engine marketing glossary (compiled by a SEO Company in Austin) trying to understand phrases like Google Dance and PR. And I now have a headache.

Blogging was sure a lot easier before everyone and their teenaged kid knew about it.
