Mind If I Stick These In Your Ears?
With VH1 out of town for the weekend and the Big-Eyed Boy happily occupied with a rented PlayStation game, I’m blissing out on the glory of Blip.fm. If you like these, might as well become a fan of my channel. And, yes, I am eclectic. What of it?
Want to listen along?
- Paralyzer by Finger Eleven
- Everybody Wants Some by Van Halen (woke up with that one in my brain);
- You Can’t Always Get What You Want by the Rolling Stones (best version ever)
- She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult
- Walk on the Wild Side by Lou Reed
- She’s Not There by The Zombies
- Romeo and Juliet by The Killers (I love this version)
- Call Me by Blondie
- Tempted by Squeeze
- The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen
- To Love Somebody by Nina Simone
- All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix
- Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots
- Love Remains the Same by Gavin Rossdale
- Everytime I Think of You by The Babys
- Solitary Man by Neil Diamond
- Troy by Sinead O’Connor
- And So It Goes by Billy Joel
- Is That All There Is? by Miss Peggy Lee
- Are You Happy Now? by Michelle Branch
- If I Laugh by Cat Stevens (*sigh*)
Paralyzer… wonderful until the 1988 vocals started kicking in. Had to bail.
Most of those are pretty damn good, most of the rest I don’t recognize. Yusef Islam I won’t listen to.
Nice list all in all.
Well, as you can see by the rest of the playlist, I’m rather fond of the 80s stuff.
And I didn’t say I was listening to Yusef Islam. I was listening to Cat Stevens. He became Yusef after recording his good stuff.
Wow, I haven’t heard Echo and the Bunnymen or Squeeze since college. When I was working I used Yahoo’s streaming music to build an eclectic channel of my own, although it leaned more towards movie/show/classical. I’m a dork.
Eclectic. Sounds like some of this is really rocking out, some more mellow. Nice selection. Big Echo and Cult fan.
Ooh – have to try this out.
I currently have 16852 songs in iTunes with hundreds of albums left to rip. When Brian and I flock to our book fairs, I’m usually picking up cassettes at 25 cents a pop (or less) or record albums. It takes a whole lot longer to get them in MP3 format than it does CDs, but ultimately it’s pretty satisfying to add to the music collection so cheaply (and legitimately). I have a feeling I’ll spend some time on blip. I sure spend some time on last.fm
