A while ago, another blogger (I can’t remember who) sent an email asking if I knew how to password-protect their entire WP blog. Evidently, she (I remember that much) didn’t want her soon-to-be-ex-husband reading the series of entries she planned to write which, as I recall, were going to catalogue his sexual inadequacies.
Uh, anyway.
I found this at ScriptyGoddess. Hope it helps.

Note to said female blogger (as you know Kate), those entries are still discoverable in a divorce. Bad idea. Bad idea indeed.

I explained as much to her when I responded to her initial email. From what I gathered, she didn’t particularly care.
At any rate, it’s a helpful hack for others, too. These days, quite a few bloggers are opting for “public privacy” through password protection of their pages.

Yeah, I never understood that whole thing. Either it’s private, in which case it shouldn’t be found on the net at all, or you bare your soul. Because even if you only give the password to a select few, people, being who they are, will naturally run their mouths and the next thing you know, people you don’t even know are reading your private thoughts.
