The Victory Coalition is still lagging behind in our fundraising for The Spirit of America – an effort by the U.S. Marines stationed in Iraq to establish television alternatives to al-Jazeera.
Needless to say, the Coalition members are now going to great lengths to encourage your donations. Kevin has shamelessly exploited his newborn son, while Michele – a lifelong Yankees fan – has humbled herself by donning a Red Sox hat to appease a donor. Other Coalition members are making offers, too, all in an effort to motivate reader donations.
Well, you know me: always a bit late to jump on the bandwagon and yet determined not to be left behind. So I think I’ll make an offer, too: your receipt for a $100 donation gets you a 4-course gourmet dinner and night of drinks on the Venomous Lanai as my guest on your next trip to Hawai’i.
I’ll even wear the infamous sarong.
