Stirred, But Not Shaken
My martini jihad is about to end 10 days early.
VH and I have been waiting for this day for two years, and I promised when it came (as I told him, and you, it would), we’d celebrate. It’s bittersweet, and two years too late, but a promise is a promise.
I only wish our friend Tony — who has also sees this day as too long in coming — were here to join us in a toast.
I’m one of those “spell it out for me” folks–does this mean VH has retired? That he wasn’t in only nine more months after all? Well, congrats, and God bless VH for his service. Thanks, Mr. Venom.
Pardon! –I meant, Colonel Venom.
Nice. I didn’t mean his whole tenure–in the previous post you linked you said he would be retiring nine months from then, and that was in 04, so I wondered if he got the two-year extension he was after, or if something else came together. But anyway, enjoy the celebration.
Assuming the Big-Eyed Boy goes to bed, I just might get a chance to do that!
But, no, VH did not get his 2-year extension. He did get his Master’s, however, and he did it in one year. I was SO impressed!
Meanwhile, I spent the evening giving Once a Month Cooking a try. Not for the faint of heart or the weak of foot, that.
Congrats to the VH on his service and his well-earned retirement – and to you for your role in his success!
I will join the VH in retirement in approximately 387 days…not that I’m counting…heh…
